THE PRESIDENCY
HOW NOT TO GOVERN - Criticizing your own nation abroad, while threatening your allies and coddling your enemies, is not a formula to successfully govern. President Barack Obama in early 2009 had a far left agenda that included socialized medicine, and at that time he had the popularity to pass his agenda through Congress. Instead of concentrating on his agenda, he went on one victory lap after another around the world, apologizing for America and thanking Islam for its contributions to our society. His latest victory lap was supposed to be to Indonesia to visit the madrassa he attended as a child. That trip has now been canceled because his agenda is failing in a Congress dominated by his own party. Obama's ego allowed him to believe that he was so loved, not only in America but worldwide, that anything he suggested would become law. Now he must claw and fight in Congress for every vote to save his "health reform" agenda by alternately threatening and bribing lawmakers. Regardless of whether there is a narrow win in the House this weekend for his health care agenda, Obama is badly wounded. There is political blood in the water and both sides can smell it. Republicans are eager for the battle they hid from just months ago, and Democratic congressmen are in hiding from their constituents.

DOES OBAMA HATE ISRAEL? - During his early education at an Islamic madrassa in Indonesia, Barack Obama was taught the "evils" of the Jewish race. As a politician, even as a Senator, he attended a church where anti-semitism was preached from the pulpit. Some of it must have rubbed off, because he is insisting that Israel reduce itself to the size of a large ghetto and allow Palestinians who have not lived a day of their lives in Israel to become citizens and be allowed to vote. The terms for "peace" that Barack Obama has given to Israel would have the effect of ending its existence. With a straight face he then tells the world that Israel is "our closest ally." If this is how we treat our "closest ally," the member nations of NATO may want to turn to Russia as a partner.

CLINTON'S TIRADE AGAINST ISRAEL - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on the phone and lectured him for 45 minutes because it was an "affront" to America that Jews would announce building homes in Jerusalem while Vice President Biden was visiting there. During the one way conversation she told the Prime Minister that in order to even hold "peace talks" Israel must agree in advance to stop all construction on any land that Palestinians claim. Israel must also agree to split Jerusalem in half so that Palestinians can have an Islamic capital there. Her last demand was for Israel to agree to allow the "descendants" of the "original" Palestinians to return to Israel to live. In essence Clinton demanded that Israel agree to destroy itself as a precondition to peace talks. Concerning the 330 rockets that have been fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip in the last year, Secretary Clinton had nothing to say. In her mind the Palestinian extremists can do no wrong and they are justified in their murderous actions by Israel's refusal to hand over Jerusalem to them. REALITY: Oil rich Muslim royal families hold so much of the U.S. debt that they can dictate our foreign policy. America has sold its soul to the highest bidder for cash, to pay for the entitlement programs that buy votes.

THE CONGRESS
DEEM IT PASSED? - I was no fan of Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert. He took Newt Gingrich's Republican Revolution victory and turned it into backroom political deals that led to corruption and defeat for the GOP. Hastert had no real ideology; he was a pure politician. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, is an ideologue nutcase who is willing to corrupt the system far more than did Hastert to force her crazy Utopian view of the world on others. Apparently Obama's "health care reform" bill will not come to a vote at all. Instead Pelosi will call for a vote on an amendment that "deems" that it has already passed along with hundreds of pages of amendments that add even more costs, and cut even more from Medicare. Democrat Members of the House will then be able to tell their irate constituents that they did not vote for the unpopular bill; they just voted on an amendment that said it already passed. At all times keep in mind that liberals think that everyone other than themselves is stupid and that they must care for the "masses" with their superior intellect. The "masses," Pelosi believes, will not be able to figure out that those who voted to "deem" the bill passed really voted for the bill.

CANTOR FILES MALFEASANCE CHARGE - "Resolved, that the House disapproves of the malfeasant manner in which the Democratic Leadership has thereby discharged the duties of their offices." That is how the "privileged resolution" of Republican Whip Eric Cantor closed. Ten Democrats actually stepped across the aisle and voted not to table his resolution. Read resolution or see video of Cantor.

NEW POWER FOR IRS - While everyone else is concentrating on the cost of Obama Care, one committee took a close look at the IRS connection and this is what they found in the "health reform bill": * IRS agents verify if you have "acceptable" health care coverage; * IRS has the authority to fine you up to $2,250 or 2 percent of your income (whichever is greater) for failure to prove that you have purchased "minimum essential coverage;" * IRS can confiscate your tax refund; * IRS audits are likely to increase; * IRS will need up to $10 billion to administer the new health care program this decade; * IRS may need to hire as many as 16,500 additional auditors, agents and other employees to investigate and collect billions in new taxes from Americans. CULTURE AND RELIGION
HUGE VICTORY FOR "UNDER GOD" - A little over two years ago I wrote The Pledge, One Nation Under God, which centered on the fight to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. At the time atheist Michael Newdow had filed a new case in the 9th Circuit Court, claiming "under God" in the Pledge to be unconstitutional. It was assumed the liberal court would find for him as it had in the past.

Not only did the 9th Circuit rule in favor of "under God" in the Pledge, the ruling went beyond the Supreme Court's usual "ceremonial deism" argument to actually agree that it was a justifiable political statement. The Court agreed that "under God" tapped into the philosophy that "inalienable rights" came from a source beyond the state. Read Ken Blackwell's excellent article fully explaining the victory.

INTERNATIONAL
NIGERIA AND THE "I-WORD" - Last week I wrote about the newest massacre of Christians in Nigeria. Northern Nigeria is now completely dominated by hard line Islamic local governments that have implemented Sharia law. Islam is now reaching to take over and crush freedom in the Christian south. The major concern of the Obama Administration is to make sure Jews don't build homes in Jerusalem. My good friend Don Feder has a new Op-ed on the Western reaction to the slaughter in Nigeria that everyone in our government should read: At Play In The Fields Of Allah - Or Our Pathetic Inability To Say The I-Word

IRAQI REFUGEES NEED HELP - Please help Iraqi Christian refugees with a tax deductible gift in 2010. All contributions posted online this week will go to assist Iraqi Christian refugees in Jordan and Syria. Please contribute at www.rfcnet.or g or at the Iraqi Refugee Project page at Face book.

PETITION TO HILLARY CLINTON ON IRAQI CHRISTIANS - Read and sign the Internet petition to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The petition urges Clinton to direct our embassies to assist Christians who have fled Islamic terror in Iraq. The petition is located at www.iraqichristianrefugees.org.
