THE INAUGURATION

My Personal Experiences

Both my wife Nancy and I were present at the Capitol for the Inauguration of President George W. Bush. It was an exhilarating experience despite the cold drizzle we had in Washington at the time. We were on the Capitol grounds on the north side of the platform. Behind us stood tens of thousands of people who had come from all over the nation to witness this historic event.

Vice President Cheney was sworn into office first, followed by President George W. Bush. The president’s wife was at his side and his father sat behind him. President Bush’s inaugural address was heart stirring. Unlike former President Clinton, who only mentioned God once at the end of his inaugural address, President Bush’s speech was full of Scriptural references. He called the nation to faith and civility.

Within one hour of the swearing in the first official act of our new president was to declare the day following the Inauguration as a day of thanksgiving and prayer. He then ordered dozens of new executive orders and regulations which had been signed by President Clinton the day before, to be suspended.

Nancy and I had lunch at the Press Club in Washington along with other invited guests of the Republican Party and then took our seats along the parade route. We had seats in the bleachers that had been set up in front of the White House. The area was very secure and the President and First Lady got out of their car the last four blocks to walk and wave at supporters before entering the reviewing stand next to ours in front of the White House.

There was trouble, a lot of trouble that was not reported by the media. It takes several days to change the government. At the time of the Inauguration and the parade, the Interior Department was still being run by leftover Clinton employees. Because of the size of the crowds, tickets had been issued for space along the parade route from the Capitol all the way to the White House. Tickets had to be obtained from congressmen, senators or from the Bush/Cheney organization.

Just six blocks from the White House at Freedom Plaza the Interior Department officials ordered the police to allow chanting demonstrators with vile and foul signs and banners to take over bleachers just before the President arrived at that location. People who had done the right thing and obtained tickets to be there were forced out by the loud mouthed protesters while the park police did nothing.

Almost all demonstrators were from the National Organization For Woman (NOW). Most looked like aging hippies who had dragged along new college recruits. It was actually sad. Many of the signs had contents I cannot repeat on these pages. These people think from the waist down.

On the Inaugural Day evening Nancy and I attended one of the many Inaugural Balls held throughout the city. Thankfully it was the first ball attended by the President and First Lady and we were able to leave fairly early in the evening. The President gave those of us in attendance a short talk before he departed for his next event.

The day was a blessing for us. The last eight years have been like wandering in the wilderness for us without any White House contacts. After the words of the President and his deeds that very first day, we knew our nation was in better hands than it had been for the last eight years.

FIRST FULL DAY

On Monday, the second day of his presidency, President George Bush signed an executive order banning the use of federal funds for abortions. He also sent the annual pro-life march in Washington, DC a statement of his support. My good friend, Congressman Chris Smith of New Jersey, read the president’s statement to a cheering crowd. For the previous eight years the statements of support from the White House on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade were given to pro-abortion groups such as the National Organization for Women.

That Monday would have gone better had it not been for the immature acts of outgoing White House staffers who had worked for Bill Clinton. I am sure you have read reports that all the letter "W’s" were removed from computer keyboards and that there were other "pranks". I can tell you from my new White House contacts that it was far worse than that. There was hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage done at the White House and the Old Executive Office Building which sits on White House grounds. There was foul grafitti on the walls. Phone lines were cut. The phone system had numerous obscene messages left on it. There were computer virusus installed on some computers. Many of the computers were left with pornographic screen savers and other vile images.

At the same time his staff was vandalizing the White House and stealing linens off of Air Force One, former President Bill Clinton was counting his payoff money. He accepted over $200,000 worth of furnishing for his new home. He also pardoned relatives of big contributors and let out of jail people whose groups had promised to obtain votes for Hillary. Even the ultraliberal Washington Post said Clinton’s actions were despicable.

It took eight years, but the liberal media finally figured out that the Clintons had no agenda other than their personal gain. These folks define ‘self-centered’.

After a full week of the new presidency the media is upset. One veteran reporter told me, "There is no action here like there was at the Clinton White House. These people are just too dignified, too boring." For my part I am glad we have some dignity back in the White House.

What is the biggest complaint about the new occupants of the White House? A report that First Lady Laura Bush buys her make up at drug stores. The press finds this a disgrace and asks why she can’t get the same $100 lipstick tubes that Hillary uses. Maybe because Laura Bush is a real woman.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

As chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition I would like to see much of the legislation we passed over the last several years, and which Bill Clinton vetoed, put back before the Congress and passed into law. First among those is the partial birth abortion ban that was passed by both the House and Senate every year for the last six years and vetoed each time by Bill Clinton. This must be pushed through the House and Senate once again for the new President’s signature. President Bush has already prohibited the use of taxpayer dollars sent as overseas aid from being used for abortion. This was done by executive order; now we need to take the next step by passing more restrictive laws against the abortion industry. If there have to be abortions, they should at least be safe for the mother, always keeping in mind that one out of every two patients die in an abortion clinic.

We must provide full legal protection for all babies who are born alive during any attempted abortion. The law must clearly state that any baby born alive must be treated in such a way as to keep it alive. Last year we passed the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act though the House. It must be passed again and sent to President Bush for his signature.

We also need federal legislation to make it a crime to kill an unborn baby when there is violence done to the mother. As it stands now someone can beat a child out of a pregnant woman and be charged only with assault even if the child dies.

We must move forward with President Bush’s plan to move many welfare plans out of the hands of the government and into the hands of faith based organizations. Organizations trying to feed the hungry were actually shut down by President Clinton’s administration through bureaucratic rules. This must be reversed.

The rights of individuals to pray in public places, including schools, must be protected. When John Ashcroft is finally confirmed as the Attorney General, he needs to take action to defend against the ridiculous lawsuits that have been and continue to be brought by the ACLU. The United States should help defend the Christian heritage of the nation.

We must move to protect the Boys Scouts. We cannot allow the homosexual activists with the help of the ACLU to force the Boy Scouts to have openly homosexual scouts or scout masters sleeping in the same tents with normal young men.

We must also move to help families by getting rid of both the marriage and the death tax. The government should not be encouraging couples to live in sin. As it stands now, couples who are cohabiting would be forced to pay as much as $1,800 more in tax if they got married. It sends the wrong message for our government to financially favor those who live together rather than get married. The death tax must go as well. It is just plain wrong for a man to pay tax on income his entire life and then have the government take more than fifty percent of his estate from his children. The current exemption is only $600,000. If a man has a business worth $2,000,000 it must now be sold to pay taxes and his family is tossed out of work. This is wrong.

We must also encourage adoption over foster care and have programs to encourage abstinence among teens. We need to encourage teens to have safe relationships, not safe sex. Our schools must also be fixed, and those that can’t be fixed should be shut down.

There is a lot to do and a lot to undo. Eight years of President Clinton’s executive orders designed to help perverts put their agenda in our schools and to stop ordinary people like you and me from using public lands must be overturned. We have a lot of work to do and I will keep you informed as we go.

MADALYN MURRAY O’HAIR

The Final Chapter

On Sunday, January 28, 2001, FBI agents and Texas Rangers recovered a metal artificial hip from a 5,000 acre ranch near Camp Wood, Texas. The serial number of the hip matched that of the one implanted in my mother, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, about two years before her disappearance in August of 1995. Agents also confirmed the remains of my daughter, Robin. The skull of one of the original kidnapping gang, Danny Fry, was also found. Further digging would be needed to determine the identity of my brother, Jon Garth Murray.

The FBI had begun the dig on Saturday, having been led there by David Waters. It was Waters whom the FBI believe formed the gang that kidnapped my family members in August of 1995. The primary gang members included David Waters, Gary Karr, Danny Fry and perhaps one other individual. The three main gang members had met during various interments in jails and prisons. Waters had been convicted of murder previously. Karr had had been involved in brutal kidnappings. Fry was a small time con artist and was killed by the others, probably because they feared his drinking problem would lead to him talking about the murders. His decapitated body was found near a river in south Dallas County, Texas.

Neither Karr nor Waters ever benefited much from the murders or the kidnappings. During a period of almost a month they had held the two women hostage while running my brother around the country getting money from various bank accounts. Among their loot was $500,000 in gold coins, the proceeds of other bank accounts, credit card withdrawals and the sales of cars and jewels. They hid the loot in the same Austin, Texas storage facility in which they had brutally dismembered the bodies of their victims. Some small time burglars broke into that storage locker and benefited from the brutal crimes of Waters and Karr.

In a trial last year Gary Karr was sentenced to life in prison for his part in the kidnapping. Danny Fry had paid a higher price for being involved. David Waters agreed to a plea-bargain agreement shortly before his trial was to begin on January 29, 2001. I had been subpoenaed by the U.S. Attorney in Austin as a witness in that trial.

Apparently David Waters agreed to tell where the bodies of my family members were, along with the head and hands of Danny Fry, in return for serving his sentence in a federal penitentiary. He feared any state charges that could bring the death penalty.

The entire investigation had been handled by federal authorities. Agent Ed Martin of the Treasury Department (Secret Service) had taken an interest in the case and had come to Washington, DC to interview me more than three years ago. Up to that time I had tried numerous times to get the Austin, Texas police involved. Even private detectives had furnished conclusive evidence of foul play to the Austin Police, but they had laughed it off. To this day the Austin Police still have the case in their "juvenile" missing persons unit. Despite all evidence, this incompetent police department refused to acknowledge that a crime had been committed. This can be expected of a department that is run by those who receive politically correct promotions rather than promotions based on merit.

One federal agent at the scene told me of how gruesome the situation was. The bodies had been dismembered and then burned. I called all of our remaining children to tell them of the situation for fear they would read it in the newspapers first. That same agent also told me that he had offered a prayer over the bodies when they were first discovered. He told me, "No one deserves this, no one."

Unfortunately my mother had many times employed such individuals as David Waters. She had found that employees who were convicted felons allowed her to work them harder and many times under pay them. It came with her "anything goes" atheism, an atheism in which there was no moral right or wrong. My mother was a pure social Darwinist. She had admitted David Waters to her office and to her home. He was her office manager until a few months prior to the kidnappings. He was fired when she determined that he had stolen tens of thousands of dollars from her. At the time of the kidnapping he was on probation for that theft.

The bodies are now in the care of Dr. David Glassman, a forensic anthropologist at Southwestern Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. His official findings on the cause of death and the official identities will be announced in about thirty days. At that time if the bodies are not needed as evidence any further, I can expect that they will be turned over to me for burial. I can only make sure that they receive a decent and respectful burial. I pray that there will be no interference from my mother’s so-called atheist "friends"--friends whose only interest to date has been to loot her organizations and use her image and writings to enrich themselves.

I do not know and I will never know if my mother, brother or daughter accepted Christ before they died. I cannot imagine that any of them thought that they would survive this kidnapping. I can only imagine that they did not expect the end to be as bad as it was. It is pretty clear that my mother was tortured before her death. My daughter Robin was repeatedly raped and tortured before her death. Did they forsake social-Darwinism and its "survival of the fittest" as they lay bound and gagged at the mercy of their torturers? Did they in their last breath turn to the truth of Christ and ask for his mercy? Only God knows the answer to that question!

More than likely this will be the last full length article I will ever write about my mother, Madalyn Murray O’Hair. The time has come to move on. It is time to forgive and forget. What my mother did to this nation some forty years ago by removing prayer from our schools is not the issue. The issue now is working to restore God and civility to our society. We cannot do this by looking backwards to what was or what could have been.

MORE MUSLIM TERROR

In the January issue of the William J. Murray Report I went into some detail about the threat to our Republic and our way of life from Islam. There are now 6,000,000 Muslims in the United States and their beliefs are contrary to even the basic principles of our democracy.

During the last eight years Hillary Clinton was a champion of Muslim expansionism. She arranged for the first Muslim religious service ever in the White House. I found this very odd because Mrs. Clinton is such an outspoken feminist, and women are not allowed to participate in Muslim religious services. Indeed women are less than second class citizens in Islam.

In January of this year three people, including a woman and her daughter, were beheaded for murder in Saudi Arabia. In Iran a woman was stoned to death after being convicted of murder. She was buried in dirt up to her armpits and then publicly stoned to death. She had been convicted of murdering her husband. What does "convicted" mean in an Islamic nation? Is there such a thing as a fair trial for a woman in an Islamic nation? No!

First, the word of a woman is not good in a court of law. No testimony of a woman is acceptable in a court unless the testimony can be confirmed by two men. As a result, many crimes committed by men are passed off onto women. Murder your business partner and accuse his wife! Unless the wife can come up with two male witnesses, she is automatically guilty.

In no Islamic nation can women vote. The ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al- Sabah, tried to give women the right to vote after the Gulf war, but the Islamic controlled parliament overruled the Sheikh. (Kuwait has the only freely elected parliament in any Islamic nation, but it is controlled by strict Muslims who will not allow women any freedom.)

In Nigeria a woman who has a child out of wedlock is beaten with a whip. In a recent case a woman received 100 lashes publicly just a month after her baby was born. She was given an additional 80 lashes because she said she had been forced to have sex. Those lashes were given because her accusations were "false". Her statements were false because she did not have two male witnesses to say she had been raped.

I would like to say this is unusual treatment of women in the Islamic world, but it is not. I have a point ... Where is the outrage of liberals like Hillary Clinton? They constantly attack the "Christian right" and claim evangelical Christians in the United States are bigots who promote

male domination of women. The truth is Christianity gave women a dignified status which they did not have in other religions. In Islam, women are just property. Mohammed himself treated women as mere property. When he wanted to take his son’s wife for his own, he simply got a revelation from Allah that there was no evil in a father-in-law taking away a daughter-in-law.

There are virtually no civil rights in Islamic nations. In Afghanistan women are not allowed in school past the eighth grade. Recently a barber was sentenced to prison for giving a western style haircut to someone.

A nation does not have to be 100% Muslim to suffer Islamic law. In the Muslim controlled areas of Malaysia, as an example, men and women must line up at separate cashiers in the supermarket. All women must dress in accordance with Islamic law.

Where is the outrage? Where is the outrage from liberals like Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton? Where is the outrage from the liberal media which spends so much time bashing conservative Christians because of our stance against aborting innocent babies?

These same beliefs that have destroyed entire nations and literally kept twenty generations of people in the dark ages for thirteen centuries are now being imported into America and embraced politically by America’s leading liberal leaders. Why?

For more information on the current invasion of western civilizations by the Islamic hordes I would recommend reading the Islamic Invasion by Robert Morey.

THE ISLAMIC INVASION: Confronting the World’s Fastest Growing Religion

by Robert Morey

While we as Christians must reach out with compassion to those entrapped in Islam’s false teachings, we must not turn a blind eye to the clear and growing threat within America. During the Gulf War, USA Today did a survey in which American Muslim parents were asked if they could support their son or daughter fighting for the United States against Iraq. An astounding 82% said no. How are we to cope with the growing number of people within our borders whose first allegiance is to Islam and Islamic countries, and not to America?

This book presents the bizarre beliefs of a religion which has engulfed countless millions in its deception. It explains how Mohammed, a seventh century Arabian caravan driver, wove together a patchwork of contradictory ideas from pagan religion, Judaism, Christianity and his own imagination that was eventually written down as the Koran. Since Mohammed was a "prophet", the laws he wrote down did not apply to him. Muslim men were commanded to have no more than four wives, but Mohammed had nineteen wives, including his own daughter in law, as well as an eight year old girl. He and his followers became rich with the plunder they took on murderous raids against Christians and Jews. And he is revered today as holy by millions around the world!
