Week Ending December 28, 2006 - Washington, DC
December 28, 2006 12:00AM EST

JUST DAYS REMAIN IN 2006

Because the House and Senate are in recess for Christmas and New Year there will be no Legislative Update this Friday.

In 2007 the atmosphere for organizations such as the Religious Freedom Coalition will change drastically in Washington, DC. No longer will conservative congressmen and Senators control key committees or be able to arrange for votes on social conservative legislation. The House will be controlled by a radical San Francisco liberal and the agenda will be to liberalize abortion, legalize homosexual marriage, raise taxes and force organizations such as ours out of business.

There are not even a half-dozen social conservative organizations which actually have offices in Washington, DC and the Religious Freedom Coalition is one of those. We will be on Capitol Hill every day to monitor the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. The Religious Freedom Coalition will be there to report on how they plan to destroy the traditional family and turn America into a welfare state. To get the job done we need your help!

This past year has been a challenging one for the Religious Freedom Coalition. During the summer months when gasoline prices went above $3.00 a gallon in some areas of the country, fund raising for non-profit organizations such as the Religious Freedom Coalition declined. As a result we are moving rapidly toward the end of the year with a deficit. This comes at a time that office rents continue to climb in Washington, DC. Our office in Washington is on Capitol Hill just a few blocks from the Capitol Building itself. In minutes I can personally walk to a Senate or House office building to talk to a congressman or Senator. I will not be able to continue to do this work without your help.
