ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

A Just War

During the last month the Religious Freedom Coalition placed regional and national advertisements backing our nation’s just war against the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein.

In the weeks leading up to the actual invasion of Iraq to relieve the misery of the people of that nation and secure peace for the world, the nation’s newspapers were filled with advertisements from alleged "peace" groups. Some of the ads featured former President Jimmy Carter; some were almost vulgar. All the ads had one intention and that was to keep a vicious dictator and murderer in power. One full page ad depicted our armed forces as baby-killers and said that all of the evidence against Saddam was forged.

Make no mistake: this is a righteous and just war. St. Augustine, the formulator of the Doctrine of Just War, made it clear that if the good to be done by war outweighed the evil which the war would do, it was indeed just. This was later elaborated upon by St. Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologia in which he stated clearly, "True religion looks upon as peaceful those wars that are waged not for motives of aggrandizement or cruelty, but with the object of securing peace or punishing evildoers, and uplifting the good." It was under these terms that we have waged many wars, including the Great War against Adolph Hitler.

Appeasers much like Jimmy Carter were present and vocal in the late 1930’s, just as they are today. There were leaders who would tolerate any evil rather than to fight it. The names were different, but the ideologies were the same. It was Prime Minister Chamberlain of Great Britain who gave huge areas of land to Adolph Hitler in return for his signature on a worthless piece of paper stating he would seek no further gain. The cost of Chamberlain's folly was perhaps 20,000,000 dead. Had Great Britain and the world stopped Hitler before his evil empire grew so strong, millions would have lived and perhaps there would have been no Holocaust

The evil emanating from governments in the Middle East, such as that of Saddam Hussein, is not less than the evil threatened by Hitler or Stalin or Pol Pot. There is a great danger in the world today that must be uprooted and destroyed before there is a worse attack on our nation than the one we endured on September 11th. Weapons of mass destruction could cause many more deaths than aircraft used as bombs as was done on 9-11.

For this reason the Religious Freedom Coalition ran quarter page newspaper ads giving theological justification to the war on Iraq's dictator. So far, our "just war" ad has run in regional newspapers including the daily edition of the Washington Times . In addition our message was run as a full page ad in the national edition of that newspaper. We had hoped to place the "just war" ad in USA Today as well, but the war may well be over before we have the funds raised for that project.

Truth About Atheists

This year the Atheist’s annual convention will be held in the Chicago area and the Religious Freedom Coalition will have a presence in the form of newspaper advertising. April 18th is Good Friday. On the day we Christians mark His sacrifice for us, those who hate God will be descending from all over the world upon Chicago, Illinois. The American Atheists will be holding their 29th annual convention in the Chicago suburb of Bloomington this year.

The atheist convention will be held at the plush 260-acre Indian Lakes Resort with 36 holes of golf in Bloomington!

Make no mistake ... the atheist convention is an evangelistic event. Look what they do ....

For weeks before the atheist convention their leaders will be on radio and TV shows in Illinois promoting their convention. They are pushing the event on their Internet sites and with advertising. Their goal is to snare unsuspecting souls away from the true God whom they so hate.

I was raised in an atheist home. I remember the dishes flying through the air and the constant profanity, alcohol and violence. I know what atheism can do to a family. That is why a major part of my ministry for more than twenty years has been to counter the lies of the atheists at these conventions.

The very first atheist convention I went to as a witness for Christ was in Salt Lake City in 1981. The news media was in a frenzy over the atheists because they had come to the center of the Mormon Church. They would not even talk to me.

Then I got the idea to run a display advertisement in the daily newspaper addressed to all the atheists at the convention. BANG! The media could not pretend I wasn’t there when that ad went in.

The advertisements addressed to the atheists during their conventions have become a staple of my ministry. At every atheist convention ever since, I have run a large advertisement in the local newspaper where they were holding their conventions.

These ads tell the truth to the community about what the atheists stand for while they are using the media to tell their lies and attract young people to their anti-Christian bigotry.

The news media in Chicago is very liberal. This is the home of many radical organizations! The TV and radio stations will do their best to ignore me during the atheist convention. The liberal press will want to help promote the atheists and their blasphemies.

ATTENTION ALL GODLESS AMERICANS

Attending the "29th American Atheist Convention"

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Philippians 2: 9-11

Atheism is a system of sin denial. Godless people deny Him because they decry and violate His laws and His love.

The tenets of atheism, secularism, Satanism and other godless belief systems are identical. Each individual should do as he or she pleases.

The godless claim that there is no good or evil and each person must decide for himself what is right and wrong. The godless present their philosophy as new, declaring it for the 21st century. Yet, it is the oldest of philosophies, first mentioned in the Bible in the book of Genesis. It was the serpent, in tempting Eve, who said, "...your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." For the past 6,000 years of human history the philosophy of the serpent has fought the Word of God.

Recent victories belong to the godless. The authority of God was removed from the schools in 1963 and replaced with the logic of man. But the self-determination of good and evil failed and has been replaced with the iron fist of government. The Ten Commandments have been removed from the school walls and replaced by metal detectors, video cameras and window bars. Many school systems now have their own police force, with armed guards at the door and students wearing ID's. Children are murdering children while their teachers are forbidden to teach the difference between right and wrong. These are your great contemporary victories - temporary victories!

The philosophies of men and their perversions are fleeting, but God is forever. There is no longer a Roman Empire, but the cause of Christ still lives on. There is no longer an atheist Soviet Union, but the cause of Christ still lives on, as Boris Yeltsin kissed the Bible after being sworn in as the first freely elected president of Russia. One day the United States of America may be a thing of the past, but the Bible and the Cross of Christ will prevail then as now.

God is forever and eventually every knee shall bow to His awesome power. Each one of us will bow to Him either in thankfulness for the eternal life we will have with Him in heaven, or we will bow in fear for the judgment of transgressions against Him and His Word.

Repent of your sin. Put the perversions of your secular life behind you and turn to Christ. He is your Saviour. He is your Rescuer. He is your Lifeboat of grace to eternal life

As chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition I am a co-host of the Israel Solidarity and Prayer Breakfast at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC to be held on May 2, 2003. At this annual prayer breakfast, Christians and Jews come together to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Other co-hosts this year include Pat Boone, Rev. John Hagee, Dr. Pat Robertson, Gary Bauer, Dr. Jerry Falwell and many others. There will be several well known speakers and prayer leaders at the breakfast event.

This is just one of the many events the Religious Freedom Coalition hosts or sponsors in Washington, DC each year.

WHY THE FRENCH HATE US

I wrote an Op-ed entitled French Kiss which appeared in one of my weekly Legislative Updates as well as in other journals. Normally I don’t reprint material from the updates in the newsletter, but I believe it is important for everyone to understand why France and other nations of "old" Europe hate us so. I have updated the original French Kiss Op-ed to include new information that verifies my original argument, which is that the French hate us because they have surrendered their own identity and sovereignty and envy ours.

French Kiss

France has surrendered its national sovereignty. In the United States we as a people do not understand the consequences of the loss of national sovereignty, but it can be seen in French anger toward us.

Membership in the new European Union requires every nation to be submissive to its laws. Thus the French legislature can pass no law in conflict with those of the European Union. In addition the nation of France no longer has a national currency. A German or a Pole can cross at will into France and compete for jobs with Frenchmen who have lived there all their lives. For all intents and purposes, the nation of France no longer exists outside the mind of President Jacques Chirac.

The United States of America, on the other hand, is a truly sovereign republic. Our courts do not recognize the dictates of the European Union; indeed our individual states thumb their collective noses at the orders of European Union courts. The states of Texas and Virginia have been "ordered" not to execute convicted murderers. The men were executed on schedule. This raises the hair on the back of every European, particularly the French who believe that a new world order should be centered around the philosophy that drives gay old "Paree."

President George W. Bush is a true commander-in chief of the armies of an independent democratic nation. President Chirac is just a salesman of European manufactured weapons to Third World nations, and the people of France understand and hate the difference. The hate e-mail on the Internet bears out this truth.

Whether sent to bulletin boards at CNN or to this organization, the e-mail's from France have the same theme of globalization and how American action is a "threat" to a "unified" world. But what kind of "unified" world? The majority of member states in the United Nations are dictatorships and monarchies. The majority of states in the United Nations abuse the rights of women and permit prostitution. How can the French people demand that we join them in being dictated to by the third rate dictators, kings and princes of the Third World?

It is, in my opinion, simple jealousy. The French collectively realize that France is gone. France is now merely a region of Europe where an antiquated language is spoken. The French want their identity back and in their frustration they attack any people who still have an identity.

The proof of this identity envy the French have was recently revealed in an order issued by the French President to create a "French CNN". He has ordered his government to create a French alternative to what he calls the "Anglo-Saxon" view of the world as seen and heard on BCC, CNN, FOX NEWS and SKY NEWS. A French official representing President Chirac said, We’ve been concerned for a long time that the BBC and CNN reporting on events is from a British or American perspective and in English. As recent events have shown, France may see things differently and we feel it is important that we get our message across."

Please note he said "our message." Yet, France has no independent voice. The statement is in direct contradiction to the French desire to have all international law controlled by the small dictatorships that run the United Nations.

The Iraq war made the obvious even more obvious. A common market for Europe was a good idea. That good idea was taken one step too far. Now that union is being pulled apart as the majority of its members side with the United States against France. The last stand of France in the United Nations to force the United States to abandon its sovereignty will lead to the demise of that body.

The French can kiss France good-bye. In a few decades their language and their heritage will be found only in museums, or they will revert to a small independent state with no influence upon Europe or the world. C’est la vie.

MORE ON FRANCE

Violence against others usually accompanies a loss of self identity. As the French nation continues to disappear into the more Germanic European Union, the ugly head of anti-Semitism is rising in France. In a Wall Street Journal article last month it was revealed that a full 26% of French Jews are considering leaving the country because of anti-Semitism.

During elections more and more French politicians seeking votes among France’s seven million Muslims make outlandish anti-Israeli and anti-American statements. This has led to numerous attacks on Jewish businesses and the desecration of Jewish cemeteries. Recently a cemetery where the American and British heroes lie that liberated France from Hitler’s armies was also desecrated.

At the same time that French politicians are harshly critical of Jews, the French courts have moved to silence anyone who is critical of Islam. Many books that simply tell the truth about Islam are banned in France as "hate speech" and their authors have faced court hearings and censorship.

THE WEST BANK

Almost as soon as the United States invaded Iraq, leaders of terrorist organizations in areas of the West Bank controlled by Yasser Arafat announced they were sending "warriors" to defeat America. Islamic Jihad promised to send suicide bombers. Leaders of the Muslim Palestinians cannot export anything from the lands they control except for terror. Rather than concentrating on constructive education and productivity, all their efforts are centered around hatred for Jews and Americans. As I revealed in my video documentary, Holy Land Terror, the Palestinian controlled school system teaches kids how to murder starting in kindergarten. Hand to hand combat and cutting throats from behind is one of the primary classes in Middle School.

The Religious Freedom Coalition has a program of ongoing support for Christian schools in areas controlled by Yassar Arafat and his Palestinian Authority. These programs help keep Christian children out of the schools run by Arafat where hatred for America and the concept of jihad is taught on a daily basis.

Many young Palestinian men have now died in Iraq fighting for the murderous dictatorship run by the late Saddam Hussein. Along with jihadists from Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, these poor deluded young men actually drove pickup trucks and cars into the sides of our tanks in Baghdad. The religious schools operated in many Islamic nations which are financed by the Saudi royal family teach that there is no sure way to heaven other than to die fighting the "infidels." The teachings of Islam are "works based" rather than "faith based" and no adherent has assurance of salvation by any other means than to die in battle fighting Christians and Jews.

LEGISLATIVE WATCH

Pledge and Prayer

The Religious Freedom Coalition whole heartedly endorses and supports the Pledge and Prayer Amendment to the Constitution offered by Congressman Ernest Istook (R-OK) and Congressman Sanford Bishop (D-GA) and cosponsored by more than eighty other congressmen.

It is not the will of the great majority of American citizens nor was it ever the intent of the Founding Fathers that religious speech should be curtailed and censored as it is in our nation today--by courts and bureaucrats.

The 9th Circuit Court has ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because it contains the words "under God." This was the decision of a few radical judges who ignore the fact that the Declaration of Independence and many of the founding documents and speeches are replete with references to God, and the fact that no one is required to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

In other infamous cases, judges in their courtrooms and teachers in their classrooms have been forced to take down the Ten Commandments from their walls and put them out of view, as if the foundational legal and moral system of America and of Western civilization is something that must be hidden from the public, and especially from the younger generation. This is in spite of the fact that a large mural of Moses the Lawgiver looks down upon the proceedings of the Supreme Court of the United States.

In contradiction to the spirit and letter of the First Amendment, the meddling hand of government has reached into countless local public school classrooms, to tell a teacher that a personal copy of the Bible cannot be left in view on her desk, or to tell a kindergarten student not to pray over his lunch, or a fifth grader not to do an art project or a book report with a religious theme. Valedictorians have their speeches censored and high school athletes have been forbidden to pray before games. The examples are too numerous to mention.

Our religious heritage which was present at the founding of America and which in recent years has been eroded by judges who wish to rewrite the Constitution, needs to be protected. Generations to come need to understand that the liberties we enjoy, the tolerance and morality of this great nation and its system of laws are based on belief in a righteous and compassionate God. Freedom of religious expression needs to be restored and protected by the Pledge and Prayer Amendment.

Global AIDS Initiative

I support the Global AIDS initiative as outlined by President George W. Bush in his last State of the Union address; however, I cannot support HR 1298 as passed out of the House International Relations Committee.

The United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Act of 2003 currently has numerous provisions which make it unacceptable to family oriented social conservatives. As passed out of IR, HR 1298 gives preference to condom distribution rather than to abstinence and monogamy. The message this bill will give to the poor in Africa is to have as many sexual partners as possible and the United States will provide the condoms. In reality the only programs that have had any success in curbing AIDS in Africa are the abstinence training programs in Uganda.

The current language does not protect faith-based organizations which do not distribute condoms. Under the current language organizations that have had the greatest success could be refused funds simply because they do not distribute condoms.

The current language allows too much discretionary spending. A full 35% of the funds provided could be used as a slush fund. This gives no accountability to the taxpayer on how much money is spent where.

Lastly, funds should go directly to providers in the field and not to the UN Global Fund which is awash in fraud and bureaucracy.

I have urged Administration and Congressional leaders to distance themselves from HR 1298 unless appropriate amendments are made.
